What to do if you have a complaint about the Police and Crime Commissioner?

The Cumbria Police and Crime Panel (PCP) is responsible for handling any non-criminal complaints made against the Police and Crime Commissioner. The Panel's functions do not cover criminal complaints, which are dealt with by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Where possible the complaint will be dealt with by the County Council's Monitoring Officer who has been authorised by the PCP to undertake this work on their behalf. If an informal resolution has not been possible the matter can then be referred to the Panel who may choose to establish a sub-committee to deal with the matter further.
